First off, Semper Fi to your son. Second, my question is: How do you get into the mindset of a character? Do you have to go and read previous books to see what they do, or do you put yourself as the character and then just change the name?
Great question—for existing characters, I spend a lot of time reading and taking notes on the books in which they’ve already appeared so that I can write as close to the way Vince and Kyle wrote them as possible.
