What authors did you read growing up, and how do you draw inspiration from them when you write your novels?
I grew up in the golden age of military thrillers. Lots of folks know about Tom Clancy, but he was only one of the authors I devoured. Some of my favorites included Firefox by Craig Thomas, Team Yankee by Harold Coyle, Red Phoenix by Larry Bond, Flight of the Old Dog by Dale Brown, and Charlie Mike by Leonard Scott. Most of these authors had multiple book series, and I plowed through them as a teenager and young adult. Their excellent storytelling heavily influenced my own writing.
